the evening’s indigo sky seeps through.
it empties me, pulling out my blood.
shadows caress a frame of a monster.
the trees’ arms needle through,
I sit alongside the deep blues, they drown me.
smooth and cold from the touch of icy tears.
snow falls like a fainting heart, it covers me,
blankets of misery, memories, pain and love.
stars never show, never dance. absent rebels.
it is darker than it should be and I have no one,
it is darker than it should be but I can have me.
I’ll drink my coffee, pretend the first cup isn’t cold,
